Judgment

The black robed figure
   sitting high above
Weighs good and evil
   liberty and justice

The charges
   were heinous
The verdict
   was guilty

He stands alone
   facing authority
As gavels beats down
   sentenced to life

Far below
   can be heard
The sound
   a baby's first cry

A sentence
      to be served
A life
       to be lived
